Same Time, Next Year

This wonderful romantic comedy starring Ellen Burstyn and Alan Alda was filmed in 1978 at the Heritage House Inn in Mendocino, California. They play two people who are married to others but fall in love and manage to spend one weekend each year at the ‘Sea Shadows Inn’.   We watch them age physically and mature emotionally during the 26 years of stolen weekends.  The cottage where it was filmed overlooks the rugged Pacific coastline and has been divided into two cottages – one named “Same Time” and the other, “Next Year”.  Pat and I have stayed in both during visits to the Heritage House.  

Ellen Burstyn does an outstanding job.   See this with someone you love.
